Grooming Policies, Fees, Waiver & Agreement

Thank you for choosing Grooming Dog Wash at Smart Puppies. By booking an appointment or using our services, you, as the client, agree to the following policies, fees, waiver, and agreement.

Appointment Reminders & Confirmation

• You will receive reminders before your appointment.
• Please confirm your appointment when you receive a reminder.
• If your appointment is not confirmed by midnight the day before your appointment, it will be cancelled so another customer has a chance to book that time.

Cancellation, Tardiness, & No-Show Policy

• Please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before your appointment if you cannot come. This gives another customer a chance to book that time.
• If it is less than 24 hours before your appointment, please call or text us immediately.
• Please arrive on time. If you are more than 20 minutes late, we may need to reschedule your appointment.
• If you do not come and do not cancel, this is a no-show. If you miss an appointment without cancelling and want to book again, you must prepay before we book your next appointment.
• Repeated late cancellations, late arrivals, or no-shows may require prepayment before future appointments.

Aggressive Behavior / Extra Handling Fee

• For extra handling, such as additional groomers, muzzles, safety precautions, or excessive breaks, an extra charge of $10–$50 may apply based on the severity and time needed.

Excessive Matting / Brushing Fee

• If brushing exceeds 15 minutes due to matting or tangles, or if the coat is too matted to safely brush, additional fees of $50–$150+ may apply based on severity, time, and condition of the coat.
• In some cases, a full shave-down may be required for the dog's safety and comfort.

Late Pickup Fee

• After a 1-hour grace period following notification that your dog is ready, a $10 per hour late pickup fee will apply.

GROOMING LIABILITY WAIVER AND AGREEMENT

1. Behavioral Disclosure

Clients must fully disclose any known history of aggression, biting, extreme anxiety, or behavioral issues related to grooming, handling, or interaction with strangers or other animals. Failure to inform us of such behavior may lead to injury and may result in denial of future service.

Smart Puppies for Sale Inc. does not accept dogs that require sedation or harsh restraint. Exceptions may be made only with prior written approval and a signed behavioral waiver. Clients who fail to disclose aggressive or unsafe behavior assume full responsibility for any resulting harm or cost.

2. Assumption of Risk

Grooming carries inherent risks, particularly with matted coats, sensitive skin, elderly pets, or difficult behavior. These risks may include, but are not limited to:

• Minor cuts, nicks, or clipper irritation
• Stress or behavioral reactions
• Aggravation of existing medical conditions
• Injury from sudden or aggressive movement

By using our services, clients accept these risks and understand that the groomer will act in the best interest of the pet's safety and comfort.

3. Medical Emergencies and First Aid

If a pet is injured during grooming, staff may apply basic first aid, including cleaning, disinfecting, and medical adhesives such as VetBond. In case of more serious incidents, the client will be informed immediately and must seek veterinary care at their own expense.

Grooming Dog Wash will not be held responsible for costs arising from incidents linked to undisclosed behavior or pre-existing conditions.

4. Limitation of Liability

Clients agree to release Smart Puppies for Sale Inc. d/b/a Grooming Dog Wash, including all employees, owners, contractors, and affiliates, from liability for any injuries, damages, or losses connected to grooming services, including:

• Behavioral or health issues, whether disclosed or undisclosed
• Reactions to products or equipment
• Accidental injuries sustained during grooming
• Conditions worsened due to matting or movement

5. Acknowledgment and Consent

By booking an appointment or using our services, the client confirms they have read, understood, and accepted these policies, fees, waiver, and agreement.

The client acknowledges that grooming services carry risks and agrees not to hold Grooming Dog Wash liable beyond what is outlined in this agreement.
